Welcome!  Flutists Tina Signorelli and Kate Stanko established the MANTRA Flute Duo in the Fall of 2005.  Both shared a similar desire to entertain listeners with high quality classical music.  Their relaxing and easy-to-listen-to repertoire is the perfect way to set the stage for your special event - be it your wedding day, a holiday party, or any occasion that you need to add that "something extra." 

MANTRA has performed at many functions local to the Rochester, NY area and would be happy to play at your next event!


Biographies

Tina Signorelli is a Pearl Flute Performing Artist.

Tina studies with Glennda Dove-Pellito.  She graduated from the Eastman Community Music School as the first adult student to graduate with honors receiving the Adult Certificate in Flute with Honors, Certificate of Advanced Achievement in Performance, and 2 Certificates of Merit.
 
"Flaire" is her latest Jazz Ensemble with Guitarist, Mel Henderson and Percussionist, Freddy Colon.  She performs as NRG! Duo nationally and Mantra Duo locally, and was the Principal Flutist of the Genesee Valley Orchestra and Chorus from 1998-2008.  In both 2007 and 2008 Tina performed with the National Flute Association's Professional Flute Choir, an esteemed honor.

She is Artist Manager for Dr. Bradley Garner with whom she studies with and Goran Marcusson at the Wildacres Flute Retreat.

She is Quality Assurance Manager for Blackdog Recording Studios and Blackdog Media Group, LLC.

Tina currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Rochester Flute Association as the Program Chair, and is a member of the Fairport Musicale.

Tina is a mother of one and owner of Fingerprints by Tina, LLC, a work-at-home business as a Medical Transcriptionist. She enjoys running, weightlifting, yoga, reading, and spending time with her daughter and doberman pinchers.

Kate Stanko, a Rochester native, has been playing the flute for close to 20 years under the instruction of a number of accomplished flutists local to the area - including Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra flutist Jan Angus. 

Kate has participated in various local ensembles, some of which include the Genesee Valley Orchestra and Chorus, Greece Symphony Orchestra, Greece Concert Band, Rochester Flute Association Flute Choir, Silvertones Flute Choir, Grace Notes Duo and Mantra Flute Duo. In the Fall of 2006 she also had the opportunity to play in the pit orchestra for the Irondequoit Theater Guild's production of Guys and Dolls under the baton of Ron Bowks - another terrific ensemble to add to her list! 

Kate has played many local events including ARTWalk performances at Craft Co. No. 9, the George Eastman House and Starry Nites Café, in addition to performances at local area nursing homes, churches and various venues throughout Rochester.

For the 2007-2008 season, she also served as a Program Chair Committee Member for the Rochester Flute Association.

Kate is employed with a local company that strives to enhance people's vision and quality of life. When she has time, she also enjoys golfing, hiking, cross-county skiing, pilates, yoga, reading, and wine.



Repertoire


MANTRA performs a wide selection of classical music, including works by Bach, Kuhlau, Mozart, Quantz, Berbiguier, Beethoven, Schultze, Telemann and Koechlin, in addition to many other great composers.  We also have a wide selection of traditional holiday music and contemporary works. 

We would be happy to choose the appropriate repertoire for your special occasion or work with you to select music for your event.
